Back to Work!

Today's the day I go back to work. I'm a little excited, a little sad, but overall ready to get back into the work routine. I'll be working all evening shifts which is great because that means NO DAYCARE! I think this will be great for the boys, have some good time with dad! My scheduler was really nice to me and eased me back into things. Gave me an orientation/get back into it shift today and then back with a full assignment tomorrow then I have 6 days off! I think I'm going to like working a 0.7. Charlie has his Laughlin trip coming up this weekend so it will be me and the boys for the weekend. After all the snow we are supposed to get today, I'm sure he's ready for some fun in the sun.

Baptism Day!

Today was Nicholas's baptism day, we had a wonderful day...nice weather, wonderful family and friends, and a great time. Poor godfather Mark was iller than ill, but he put on his best "I'm not going to puke face" and endured the event. Thank you to everyone who came and help make Nicholas's baptism a memorable event! Lifetime Poo

So, I went and joined Lifetime Fitness today. Despite all my good intentions of taking advantage of living with a personal trainer, reality just gets in the way. Charlie gets off work at 2:00, goes to the gym until 4, by the time he gets home and we could work out, CJ's usually beyond needing to take a nap and Nicholas is having his fussy time, dinner needs to get made, yada yada yada, excuses, excuses, excuses. So, I gave up my unused for a year membership to Snap Fitness and joined Lifetime. The main reason - childcare. I can take the boys to the childcare during the day and go workout without having to throw the family schedule off balance.

The Lifetime Poo title comes from our experience tonight. First back up to May or June when we went to Moorhead to visit Mom and go to cousin Josh's grad party. We stayed at a hotel in Fargo with a "water park". Right after dinner, Mara happened to step in some poo at the bottom of the pool. Well that led to clearing and closing the pool for the rest of the night.

Fast forward to tonight, CJ talked me into taking him swimming at Lifetime after supper. Sure enough, the poo follows us wherever we go. About 20 minutes into our "swim", clear the pool we have some poo. After 2 incidents of poo in the pool I would think it was CJ! Thankfully no, in Fargo he had a swim diaper on and today we were no where near the deep end where the perpetrator did his/her business. CJ's comment, "Somebody forgot to tell their mommy they had to poop." And of course he immediately remembered the Fargo poop incident, and talked about it for a good hour.

Take a deep breath...I'm going to do it...

I'm going completely digital for scrapbooking. This won't be an easy or quick task, and it might actually be a little painful. It requires quite a bit of prework...

1) Buy a laptop - yeah, yeah I know Charlie we haven't exactly talked about this yet...
2) Buy an external hard drive to store everything
2) Buy a digital scrapbook program - sounds like PhotoShop Elements is the way to go
3) Learn what the heck I am doing

but then the thing I love to do best - get rid of stuff! Emily already called first dibs on my scrapbooking supplies. Jean, Michelle, anyone else who's interested?

I'll keep some stuff for cardmaking, but not much.

You can print a 12x12 scrapbook page for about $3.50 online - or you can do a whole scrapbook and have them print and bind it for you. There are a ton of free digital kits to work with from the net. Imagine the money I will save from all the paper/stickers I have bought over the years and never used. I could pay off that laptop in no time.

We were in Las Vegas at the Bellagio, getting ready for our big day. A quick recap of the day...

Happy Easter!

Happy belated Easter. We spent the weekend in Deer River with Grandma Beth and Papa Craig. The Bains joined us for Easter dinner on Sunday. I wasn't a very good picture taker this weekend...

CJ was well spoiled by the Easter bunny.

Nicholas was well spoiled as well, but the pictures of him admiring his Easter basket weren't very exciting. He was looking pretty cute though...

We had a great time, although I lost 3 out of 4 games of Scrabble. :(

We came home to LOTS of snow. Our fabulous neighbor shoveled our driveway for us while we were gone. Thanks Sara! CJ was sick of snow and wanted it to be nice again so he said he was going to shovel the backyard so it could all melt. He got a small patch shoveled at the end of his slide then gave up.

Time for an upgrade?

So I went to the eye doctor today. He repeatedly reminded me its been over 2 years since my last visit, but my eyes have actually gotten better in the last two years. Who would have thought...I told him maybe I should always wait 2 years between visits. He did not agree, especially for a diabetic. But, no sign of diabetes in these eyes. He gave me a his usual lecture about overwearing my contacts and I should wear my glasses more. Have you seen my glasses? Probably not, they are at least 8 years old. While leaving he said (in his Indian/Pakistani accent) "Yes, those are most definately from the 90s". Should I have not taken that as a compliment?

Obviously he hasn't seen my previous selections of eyewear.

What a day...

I wish I had spent the day drinking green beer, but unfortunately no.

The day actually started last night with CJ waking up screaming because he wanted a cold blanket from the freezer...what...Charlie says this proves he has Bergeron blood in him because he wakes up all disoriented not making any sense (actually being disoriented and not making sense comes naturally awake or sleepy for the Bergerons). This progressed into...my tongue hurts and I want a fruit snack. While funny at first, after the 3rd time it got a little old. Coupled with Nicholas waking up to eat made for a very unrested night. I realized it must be his tooth that is bothering him.

I called the dentist this morning and got his appointment to have his tooth filled moved up to today. I'm glad to say he did great. I thought it a bit odd, but they don't have the parents in the room while doing the procedure. So, I had to take the dentist and CJs word that he did great. The dentist said the tooth was bad and may still need additional work done in the future. The assistant did tell me they used the laughing gas and novacaine but that was about all the info I got. Here's CJs version of lauging gas - they put this red rubber mask on my nose that smelled like strawberries and it made me feel funny. He must not remember/felt the novacaine because he didn't mention it at all. I thought all was going to be well and done - it was all so easy.

Well then about a mile towards home and the novacaine must have started to wear off - he screamed the rest of the way home. He didn't even want a shake from McDonalds (not typical of CJ to turn down a shake). We got home and he screamed some more - I'm not talking just some ow it hurts crying, but screaming.

Nicholas had his 2 month appointment scheduled for today. CJ was actually supposed to get his 2nd hepatitis vaccination today as well. I realized I couldn't subject the kid to two versions of torture in 1 day, plus I didn't want to take a screaming kid to the doctor. Charlie was able to get off work early to stay home with CJ.

Nicholas's --- okay time out. Quick change of subject - this has been bugging me since the kid was born. Tonja - help. Is it Nicholas' or Nicholas's? Which is correct? I feel I should know how to show ownership for my child. Don't you just end with a ' when it ends in the letter s?

Anyway - Nicholas's (Nicholas') appointment went well. He weighs 12 lbs 2 ounces (95th percentile) and is 24 inches long (98th percentile). Just for comparison CJ was 12 lbs 15 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long at 2 months. He got 3 shots and 1 oral Rotovirus vaccine. Okay - now all the LeFebvre's and the Craig Bergeron clan should stand and give a round of applause. Yes, there is now a Rotovirus vaccine. I'm sure we all could share our Rotovirus stories, but lets refrain!

One thing I had forgotten was how fussy CJ was after those first shots. Well Nicholas reminded me - started about dinner time, finally stopped screaming about 8:00. And I mean screaming - about the same scream as the dreaded hat incident. Poor guy, or wait poor mom! And at one point CJ started in with his tooth hurting, so I had 2 screaming kids on the couch.

After feeling like a drug dealer (a little tylenol for you and a little tylenol for you) they are both sleeping now - and I can't decide what I want more... sleep or peace and quiet by myself.

I really need a green beer.

FINALLY!

Finally, I can prove to you that yes, the little one does smile.

"I'm new here"

Our new Target store opened just a few miles down the road, gotta love a Target on every corner. This was my experience on Wednesday...

While waiting to check out I was listening to the cashier and customer.
Customer: "Oh, those peppers were on sale for $2.99 a pound"
Cashier: "But that would be a rip off, you didn't buy a whole pound"
Customer (after a moment of thinking are you serious): "I bought like half a pound so that would be about $1.50
Cashier: "Hmm... I don't know if I can fix this... let me see... sorry, I'm new here"

HELLO! Everyone is new there, it's a new store.

Then its my turn to check out.

After she puts a gallon of milk, 2 two liter bottles of soda, and a bottle of juice in 1 brown paper bag...
She gets a new bag, puts the remainder of my items (not very many) in, stops at the last 3 items and says "Do you mind if I put these in this bag, I don't like to make these bags too heavy."

He grew up!

Nicholas turned into a new boy today. For a first last night he slept for 5 1/2 hours! Then he started taking 4 ounce bottles every 3 hours or so instead of 3 ounce bottles every 2 hours. And most importantly he is full of smiles. With each coaxing of a smile he didn't disappoint, until of coarse I tried to get a picture. He also started "talking" more, I love those little baby coos. Such a sweet boy, maybe tomorrow he will walk. They DO grow up so fast.

Grandma Beth solves the baptismal dress dilemma

We can always count on Grandma Beth and her sewing capabilities. She found a cute pattern and nice fabric to make Nicholas a baptismal outfit. I'm anxious to see how it turns out. Stay tuned for pics after the big event...

He HATES hats!

Since it was so nice today, we spent some time outside. CJ rode his bike, made a hopscotch on the driveway, we went for a walk... Nicholas wore his cute little hat - which was all fine and dandy when he was sleeping...

But then.... he woke up...

If he could speak he would say, "what the hell is this hat doing on my head" but since he can't speak he just cried, or should I say squealed like a stuck piggy. And who's the evil mom who leaves him with the evil hat to go to get the camera so she can add it to her blog later. Evil woman.

I've moved LeFebvre Party of 4 for various reasons, mostly because I like the look of blogspot better. If I were really creative, I could do all kinds of fun things. Maybe I'll have Emily get to work on making this look better...
